Got this recipe from a friend and thought I'll give it a try, especially when we can't find this snack here. It's easy to prepare and the ingredients are easily available here too. It smelled good and looked good, but it was a disappointment because the dough didn't turn out chewy, like what we are used to and like. The dough was too soft and the flour taste was too 'strong'. Only Meimei didn't mind eating this version of muah chee.
So, either I can find another recipe to try or this snack will just have to wait until we return to Singapore to enjoy.
Ingredients
1 cup glutinuous flour
3/4 cup water, pinch of salt and sugar
1 tsp sesame oil (I used 1 1/2 tsp instead)
grounded peanut, mix with sugar
Method
1.Mix the water with the salt and sugar. Add the glutinous flour and stir well.
2. Heat a non-stick pan with the sesame oil over a low fire. Add the batter and slowly cook until it becomes sticky.
3. Remove and put the dough into a bowl of powdered peanuts and sugar mixture. Coat the scissors with sesame oil before cutting the dough.
