Saving money

The kids do not need any pocket money for school since lunch is already paid for. But it's crucial for them to learn the importance of saving and also to stop them from 'demanding' for toys or sticker books each time we pass by the shops.

So, I bought these 2 wallets for them to keep the 'pocket money' they will receive at the start of every school week. We're only giving them $20 peso (less than approximately S$7) each week. And recently there was a fund-raising in school for a Children's Cancer hospital and we got them to donate any amount they want to, from their pocket money.

Coins aren't worth anything here. $1 peso is equal to less than S$0.30. Can't buy anything with that here. :p

The initial plan was to buy piggy banks for them but we couldn't find any. The coin boxes (with keys) cost more than the wallets and I'm worried that kids will misplace the keys. These wallets only cost me $6 peso each (less than S$2). And the kids are happy! hehehe....

Boys are boys....just so crazy over cars. :p
